Ballinlough’s Feis Cup campaign came to an abrupt ending with a heavy defeat to St. Pats in Stamullen on Sunday afternoon.
Ballinlough…………..2-4 St. Pat’s……………...4-14
Ballinlough’s poor record in the Feis Cup continued with as they exited the competition in the first round for the fifth time in six years. The intermediate side simply had no answer to a fast moving senior side that played with a greater intensity from start to finish.
St. Pat’s raced out of the blocks as the Ballinlough defence worked hard to keep them at bay but under a constant barrage of attacks the floodgates eventually started to open as the home side took a commanding 0-9 to 0-1 lead at the break.
Both sides made plenty of substitutions during the second half but the dominance of the senior side continued with Ciaran Lynch outstanding at full-back and Niall Mooney working well around midfield.
Derek Muldoon and Kevin Devine scored second half goals for the visitors but their defence was over worked as St. Pats hit four goals in the second half to run out comfortable winners.
