A late goal from Nicolas Finlay was the decisive score as Ballinlough defeated Moylagh in the Junior D championship in Athboy on Sunday afternoon.
Ballinlough………………….1-6 Moylagh……………………..1-3
Ballinlough once again fielded a youthful side and they used twelve U-21 players during the course of this match.
Difficult conditions didn’t facilitate free flowing football and it was Moylagh who adjusted better, they were ahead 1-2 to 0-2 at half-time. Strong performances from Shane Smith, Gary Reilly, Michael Geraghty, James O’ Higgins and Jack Tunney kept Ballinlough in contention and when Nicholas Finlay netted late on it sealed their first win of the championship.
